To prevent the spread of germs, patient care staff will at times wear face covers, gloves or gowns. The staff at ECMC practice appropriate hand washing techniques.Patient/Visitor Infection Control Measures
The single most important step you can take to prevent the spread of germs is washing your hands before or after contact with another person. Please, wash your hands using soap and warm water. Also, available in each room is hand gel disinfectants should you prefer it.Family and friends with any symptom of cold, flu, diarrhea or skin infections, are encouraged not to visit. ECMC asks you refrain from visiting if you have been exposed to a communicable illness such as chicken pox.
